What actually is a picture disc? from the pic on hottopic, it appers to be a vinyl record?
All this shit reminds me of Spaceballs...
"Spaceballs the toilet paper! Spaceballs the flamethrower!"
Kiss are the kings of merchandizing, even back in the day, little kids had Kiss lunchboxes and thermoses.
The only reason why I mentioned value was it was asked how many copies were pressed, I assume a shitload and I'm sure they will remain on ebay so you don't have to run out and grab one.
There are probably 10 on there right now.
Also the band just put out an album and are on tour. If you wait a few months the prices on ebay will drop because it won't be at the front of alot of people's minds.

I agree with ya on the ebay prices...there were a couple of LP's I still don't have and have been watching on ebay....as soon as the tour started the prices doubled. I don't buy anything as an investment, even if I did i would never be able to part with any of my Social D stuff. For some reason though it is nice to know what you have it is just kinda a collector mind set, not sure why it carries over to items you want because you just plain want, but it does every now and then.
I'm not like "the collector"- I open the package, I play them, etc. Some are worth more than others, some less- but I have no plans on auctioning them off. They are a part of my past. Not for sale.
Alot of my stuff is that way- it's fun to pick up a piece of chalkware you got at the flea market / swap meet / thrift store and see what people are paying for it.
I always thought the saddest thing was walking into this record / pawn shop in Seattle and seeing all the leather jackets for sale. They weren't like brand new fonzie jackets, they were crust punk painted, studded, patched, well worn with love. Your jacket was always so important... I was not a leather jacket person myself, hoodie and a denim vest was more my speed, but man, your leather jacket to those who wore them was like your declaration of who you were. It's like seeing a man's skin for sale.

Yeah, I totally agree. Every once in a while I will walk into a pawn shop and see this well worn-in guitar, and it breaks my heart to imagine being in a position where something so much a part of a person like thier guitar would have to get pawned off.
